This is a contemporary dramatic text in which the author pays particular attention to the form of the play. The main character, the Man, returns from Shanghai to his family home in Serbia, where he finds his aging Mother, his younger Brother—now married with a child—meets his brother’s Wife, who has drifted into family life out of inertia, and learns that his great love, She, a local hairdresser, is marrying another man.

The play is, in fact, a series of scenes triggered by the return of one family member into the life of his family. This sequence forms a subtle interweaving of emotions, memories, and attempts to build new connections—and perhaps to sever old ones.
